Kelly Fernandes is an experienced attorney with proven technical expertise and legal acumen. She has been representing health care professionals in malpractice cases exclusively for the past 17 years. A graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, Kelly earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a minor in Business.
Driven by a passion for advocacy, Kelly went on to earn her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, graduating cum laude in 2007. Since entering the legal field, she has cultivated a strong reputation across Florida for her work in medical malpractice defense and nursing home litigation. Her experience includes working with both a prominent state-wide insurance defense firm and respected boutique law practices, where she has participated in trials to verdict in counties throughout the state.
Kelly is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She remains active in the legal community as a member of the Dade County Bar Association and the Health Law and Trial Law Sections of the Florida Bar.
Outside the courtroom, Kelly leads a vibrant and balanced life. She enjoys working out, traveling, spending quality time with family and friends, and doting on her beloved cat. She gives back to the community through her work with Miami shelters for the homeless.
